Some of you will have been familiar with my previous blog, which I wrote for a couple of years before starting this current one. There are times when I’m quite nostalgic for my old Blogger blog, but had to close it when the children came to live with us as it had far too much personal information in it. And you’ve no doubt realised that this one, Homemade and Happy, is fairly anonymous – essential, given that we’re an adoptive family.
To embrace my nostalgia (!) and to share with you some of the posts from the ‘old days’ before children, I’ve decided to republish some of my old posts in this current blog. Today is the first of those, sharing with you my love of boats. Here goes …
………………….
I am very much attracted to boats, are you?
They whisper to me of travel and adventure. Of Swallows and Amazons.
Boats please my eye with their shapes and colours. They epitomise calm as they lazily bob on the tide, moored to the shore.
And their names are full of romance and mystery. Hinting at long-held dreams now fulfilled. Evocative of poetry, lost loves, distant places.
Cornwall is, of course, a haven for lovers of boats, lapping waves, seagulls and turquoise waters – and for people like me who simply cannot resist taking a few more dozen photos of all the sailing, rowing, fishing boats that create a lacy edging to harbours and coves.
