There’s a recurring theme to a lot of the emails I receive from blog-readers and that is :
“Please could you write a tutorial on how to make …. ?”
Now, as our family rhythm and routines settle into place, as the children settle down, I’m beginning to find the time, space and energy to spend my days crafting. Which makes me a much happier person to live with, that’s for sure!
I’ve been crafting since forever. Sewing clothes, curtains and blinds, home decor, bags, bedding, gifts, bridal wear, etc etc. If we need something, I make it. If I see something which is beautiful but ridiculously priced, I make my own version of it.
I need to imagine, design and make things like sunflowers need sunlight. Creativity makes me grow, bloom and become my true self. Creativity is where I belong
It’s been a long journey to get my little family settled as they are now, so that I can myself settle down to my sewing (we’re still journeying!) … and now, with all the joys of Spring, I’d love to share my decades of skills and experience with you. Creativity is a gift and how better to celebrate that gift than by sharing it?
And one of the great pleasures of this blogging experience is the feedback I get from people who’ve tried out the few tutorials I have shared here. It makes me feel deeply grateful and happy to read comments saying that you’ve had a go at my tutorials and made something beautiful for yourself or as a gift. Those comments are a gift to me in return.
And as time goes on, I find the tutorials I’ve shared here are being featured on websites, pinterest and flickr. Which is so exciting! Which means I get to meet new readers who find their way here – yay!
With the time I have, I’d love to write more tutorials to feature here so that you can try them. I can’t wait to play with fabrics, camera and words so that I can share easy, step by step, foolproof tutorials with you. What fun we’ll have!
Which means there’s something I need to ask you:
What do you want to make?
What tutorials would you like to see here?
If you’re excited about something in the pages of a glossy magazine and you’d like to know how to make it… If you’re having a room makeover and want to create your own curtains, blinds, etc… If you’ve tried and struggled with a technical aspect of sewing like zips/buttonholes, etc … Whatever it is you want to make – I can show you how!
So whatever you fancy sewing, whatever you’ve been confused by, let me know in the comments and I’ll create a tutorial just for you
Happy days!
